What should we do in Nosara? Let me tell you!

There are so many beautiful places to see & delicious restaurants to eat at in town, but some are ABSOLUTE must's!

Picture op

The view, the view, the VIEW! If you only make it in for a quick cocktail or beverage, it's worth it! Tip, stop in around 4:30pm before the sunset crew shows up and grab a chair on the lawn. You will not get a better view of Playa Guiones. The restaurant usually requires a reservation so plan ahead. On the weekends they open their wood burning pizza kitchen, delicious! They also have  a pool table, darts and so much more! I won't ruin the surprises :)

Dinner On A Budget

I've had customers, more than once, comment on how steep the prices are around town. If you're feeling that wallet getting hot, let me give you a tip. Malacrianza which is just 15 minutes South of Guiones, in Playa Garza, might be the last hidden gem! Garza is a small fishing town that has a spectacular quiet beach to the north. Try their Catch Of The Day or their pasta, EVERYTHING is delicious! It's  cute, clean and offers a full bar. On the weekends after 10am, they also offer brunch and mimosas. My favorite is Their typical breakfast, yummm.

Date Night

Would you like to enjoy that nice shirt you brought and maybe a little makeup without dripping sweat? LOL. This is it! For now this is the only place in town that has air conditioning, but that's just the icing on the cake. The drinks are made to perfection, my favorite is their Expresso Martini. Made with fresh Costa Rican Coffee, no brainer. Their tapa style charcudary boards are fantastic! The space its self is curated to perfection. Tip, I would get there around 6:30pm-7:30pm when it's quiet. It's a small space so when people pour in around 8:30-9:00pm it's a tight squeeze. This could also be a super fun place with a group of friends or alone, you never know who you are going to meet.

Paradise

This is why you came, to experience paradise. I can guarantee this place will not let you down. South Guiones tide pools are about a 15 minute walk south. There are other tide pools on main beach but these are bigger, deeper and more secluded. The only trick is that it has to be low tide to find them. Bring snacks and a beach chair, you will want to spend some time taking in the picture perfect view. You are welcome :)

Farmers Markets

Tuesday Market Giones

If you’re staying in Guiones and looking for fresh, local produce—especially if you don’t have transportation—the Tuesday Market is a must-visit!

Held every Tuesday on Calle Modelo in North Guiones, just down the street from Organico Bakery, this lively outdoor market is the perfect spot to stock up on fruits and vegetables. But it’s so much more than that.

You’ll also find local art, handmade clothing and accessories, natural products, and delicious snacks—all made or grown by members of the community. It’s a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere that turns grocery shopping into a fun cultural experience.

The market kicks off early in the morning and typically wraps up around 2 PM, so plan your surf session accordingly and make time to swing by. Whether you’re grabbing ingredients for a beachside picnic or just browsing for unique souvenirs, the Tuesday Market is a great way to support local vendors and get a true taste of Nosara life.

Hidden Gem for Fresh & Affordable Produce

Staying a little longer and looking for fresh fruits and veggies that won’t break the bank? There’s a great little spot called Los Cartages hiding in plain sight—and if no one told you about it, you’d never know it was there!

Tucked behind the gas station in Nosara, this low-key market offers a great selection of produce at very reasonable prices. It’s located in the small commercial center next to the hardware store—on the left side, right next to the nail salon (which, by the way, is perfect if you’re in the mood for a well-deserved foot massage and pedi).

This spot is popular with locals, and once you find it, you’ll see why. Friendly service, fresh ingredients, and budget-friendly prices make it a go-to for anyone staying in the area for more than a few days.

Definitely worth checking out!

Weekend Market Near Super Nosara

If you’re up for a short drive and looking for a truly authentic local experience, head into town for the pop-up market across from Super Nosara, happening every Saturday and Sunday morning.

This little market may be low-key, but it’s packed with fresh produce. It’s a great spot to chat with vendors and support small, local businesses.

Right across the street, you’ll find Super Nosara—the town’s original big supermarket and still the best place for a wide selection of groceries and household items. Whether you’re stocking up for the week or just picking up a few things, it’s worth the trip.

It’s about a 10–15 minute drive from Guiones, so plan accordingly—but between the pop-up market and Super Nosara, you can make a morning of it!
